Program Description

Event Details

Join us at the library for a special program on Ohio River Heritage, presented by historian Eddie Price. In this engaging presentation, he explores the many ways Americans have used the Ohio River throughout our nation’s history—from transportation and trade to westward expansion and daily life along its banks. His illustrated slideshow features historic maps, charts, portraits, and photographs. He also brings a detailed model “New Orleans boat” for display—a floating warehouse complete with sweeps, livestock, whiskey barrels, hemp rope, and more. This program is part of America's 250th, commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States and highlighting the river’s important role in our shared heritage.
